I saved up a bit and am looking at getting an older tractor, maybe something like a Valtra G125? I'd use it for hedge cutting, baling, and maybe some light restoration work on the side. I would love to hear thoughts, is it a good investment for the experience and flexibility or should I hold off for something more practical down the line?

It should serve you well for cutting hedges and for bailing too, plus it's good for light restoration work, watch out for maintenance history since older tractors can need some TLC. If you're comfortable with that, it sounds like a great investment for the experience and flexibility you want

The Valtra G125 is pretty decent. Older models can have quirks like hydraulic leaks or transmission issues, so its worth checking condition and maintenance history. If you want a capable, flexible machine and the budget allows, its a good choice, but if you just need something simple and reliable, a smaller or older tractor might make more sense.
