Hey all, I'm helping my dad set up his 2024 Valtra N Series with the SmartTouch system and ISOBUS. He uses Agrii Contour for his variable rate prescriptions but is stuck on how to get the files into the tractor. The dealer wasn't much help, just gave us vague answers. He knows his old Trimble needed a folder called "prescriptions" with shp, dbf, and other files on a USB stick, but this Valtra seems less clear. Anyone with recent experience? Is it just dropping the shapefiles on a USB and plugging it in, or does it need specific AGCO file types or a certain folder structure? Would appreciate any tips to avoid trial and error during planting season.

Hey, I helped my uncle with his car recently, same model and I found it's not as simple as just dropping shapefiles on a USB, the system prefers ISOXML files in a specific folder (usually called TASKDATA). If agrii contour can export ISOXML, that's best otherwise, you might need to convert your shapefiles first.

Happy to help if you want more details

Why not reach out directly to AGCO support or check if Valtra's SmartTouch needs a TaskData folder like other CCI terminals,it could save your dad time and a planting headache?

With the Valtra SmartTouch system, you cant just drop shapefiles on a USB like with Trimble, you'll need to convert them to ISOXML format. Use something like TaskDoc Pro or a compatible farm software that can export in ISOXML, and make sure the files are in a TASKDATA folder on the USB. Once thats done, the smarttouch system should pick it up without much fuss

Thanks for the tip! I'm new to this. With TaskDoc Pro, can it send files wirelessly or only by USB? Also, what happens if the folder name isn't exactly "TASKDATA"? Does SmartTouch ignore it?

Glad to help! With TaskDoc Pro, file transfer is typically done via USB, as wireless options are limited or not supported. And yes, the folder name usually needs to be exactly "TASKDATA", if its different, SmartTouch might not recognize or import the files correctly. Are you setting up a new device or troubleshooting an existing one?

@let's bagpipe yeah, the SmartTouch system is picky with folder names. Make sure your USB has a folder called TASKDATA and ISOXML files inside, otherwise it won’t see them.
