Clutch acting up

My dad's Valtra T150 from 2007 with about 7500 hours is starting to hitch when going through the gears, almost like the clutch isn't quite there. He's used it for pulling hay wagons for quite a while now so it's seen better days. Could this be something in the hydraulics or is the whole clutch system likely shot?

At 7500 hours, could be either honestly, is it an assisted clutch ?, check the hydraulics first coz low pressure or a sticky valve can mess with engagement. But if it's mechanical wear, then the clutch itself might be on its way out

I think you can start by checking the master and slave cylinders for leaks or weak pressure before digging deeper. There could be a sticky spool valve in the assist system, as that can cause exactly what you're describing.

We had to put this repair aside for a bit while we finished up with the last of the hay. This is a perfect follow-on to the first reply we received. If we determine that the spool valve is the issue, is it a component that can typically be cleaned and serviced or is replacement usually necessary? We plan to bring the tractor into the shop next weekend and begin work on it.
